Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra has been called yoga sleep, yogic sleep, and the yoga of waking sleep. Yoga Nidra is basically a guided meditation that teaches you to move your awareness from your outside world to your inner world. The word Nidra refers to the daydream state; a state between wakefulness and sleep. Brain activity can be reduced and your body has an opportunity to move into a healing state.
Anyone can do Yoga Nidra. All you need to be able to do is lie down on the floor or sit comfortably in a chair and listen with your eyes closed. Practicing Yoga Nidra on a regular basis can promote deep rest and relaxation by calming the nervous system - leading to less stress and better overall health.
